It is day two with reading from Genesis 17 to 28! How is the reading going? Are you using BibleGateway.com to listen along as you read, just as I am? The reading for today covers the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the birth of Isaac, Abraham’s sacrifice on the mountain of the Lord, the death of Sarah, the finding of Rebekah as a wife for Isaac, the death of Abraham, and Jacob’s deceit against his brother Esau.
Genesis 17:16 “I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her.”
Genesis 18:14 “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
Genesis 22:15-18 Abraham’s devotion and obedience to the Lord brings affirmed promise of many descendents.
Genesis 24:15 “Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder.”
Genesis 25:28 “Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.”
Genesis 25:31 “Jacob replied, ‘First sell me your birthright.’”
